Chinese vice-premier Zeng Peiyan met in Beijing on Tuesday with a delegation from the Chrysler Group, headed by its President and CEO, Tom LaSorda.
Zeng Peiyan told the visiting Chrysler CEO that China's auto industry has maintained a fast development in recent years, with an annual production of 7 million vehicles, becoming the world’s second largest automobile market.
As the world's leading car manufacturer, Zeng hopes Chrysler will expand its cooperation with Chinese auto makers and achieve mutual benefit.
Chinese carmaker Chery Automobile and the U.S. Chrysler Group signed a strategic cooperative agreement Wednesday in Beijing to explore the North American and European markets.
The cooperation would benefit from Chery's capabilities in developing and producing small-and medium-sized cars with low production costs and in maximizing Chrysler's advantages in terms of brand influence and marketing, according to a joint statement from the two companies. Source: Xinhua |
