Chinese senior official praises education, cultural co-op with Russia |

Chinese State Councilor Chen Zhili on Thursday spoke highly of the Sino-Russian cooperation in higher education and pledged to further promote bilateral ties in the fields of education and culture.
At the opening ceremony of a university presidents' seminar, Chen said that by cooperating Chinese and Russian would learn from each other develop.
The seminar will build a platform for the two countries to cooperate on cultivating talent and establishing innovation-oriented universities, said the state councilor.
Chen has been awarded an honorable professor at the prestigious Moscow State University.
Chen started her nine-day visit to Russia on Sept. 1 as the head of several Chinese delegations ranging from literature and art to education, in a bid to promote cultural and humanities exchanges within the framework of the "Year of China" in Russia.
The Week of Tibet will be launched Thursday evening with an exhibition of Tibetan photos, traditional medicine, Thangka paintings, dancing and singing performances and seminars.
On Wednesday, Chen attended the opening ceremony of the 20th Moscow International Book Exhibition and Fair and the launch ceremony of a performance program along the Volga River cities.
