Chinese Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan on Wednesday met with Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Motorola Inc. Edward Zander at Zhongnanhai, the compound where Chinese leaders work and live.

Zeng expressed his appreciation of the remarkable achievements Motorola has made in the past twenty years since it entered the Chinese market and its contribution to the development of the China's telecommunications sector.

The rapid advancement of China's information industry has given world-wide enterprises broad cooperation room and business opportunity, Zeng said.

He expressed the hope that Motorola deepens its participation in China's informatization process, and strengthens research and development to turn out more products suitable for the Chinese market.

The company should strive for a win-win situation with Chinese partners, and make new contribution to the development of overall China-U.S. economic and trade relations, the vice premier said.

Zander became chairman and CEO of Motorola in January 2004.
