Chinese top official urges up-to-date mentality to meet cultural needs
Chinese top official Li Changchun has urged efforts to change concepts that are not in conformity with the country's progressive cultural development.

In his article to be published Sunday on the "Qiu Shi" (Seeking Truth) magazine, Li, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, said efforts should be made to construct mechanisms and systems that are favorable to cultural development in a scientific manner.

He called for stepped-up efforts to develop cultural causes and boost people' all-round development by putting their interests first and meet their cultural needs.

Efforts should also be made to train more talented people to enhance cultural development, he said.

"Qiu Shi" Magazine is the official publication of the CPC Central Committee.
