Senior Chinese leader Li Changchun visited several famous figures in the culture circle and extended festive greetings to them ahead of the traditional Lunar New Year.
Li, who is a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), expressed his hope that they could publish more works in 2009 to showcase the achievements China has made over the past six decades during his visits to the residences of the famous figures including senior journalist, calligrapher and artists.
He called on cultural workers to encourage people to make further contributions to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
