China marks 60th founding anniversary of CPPCC

More than 800 representatives from various fields joined a meeting on Sunday to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the country's top political advisory body.

Chinese president Hu Jintao delivered a keynote speech at the gathering, which was presided over by Jia Qinglin, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee.

Top legislator Wu Bangguo, Premier Wen Jiabao, and other top leaders Li Changchun, Xi Jinping, Li Keqiang, He Guoqiang and Zhou Yongkang attended the meeting.
