(Xinhua/Yao Dawei)Chinese President Hu Jintao and his South African counterpart Jacob Zuma met here on Tuesday to discuss further development of bilateral ties between China and South Africa.
Hu and Zuma were meeting on the sidelines of a series of UN meetings.
Relations between China and South Africa have developed steadily since the two nations established diplomatic ties in 1998.
In 2007, Hu paid a state visit to South Africa, which promoted the bilateral strategic partnership formed in the previous year.
Last year, Zuma visited China as head of a delegation of the ruling African National Congress.
