A senior official of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) on Tuesday urged the country's political advisors to enhance the study of new theories and knowledge to better fulfill their obligations.

Wang Gang, vice chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, made the appeal when addressing a seminar to call for strengthened studies among CPPCC members.

Jia Qinglin, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, met the members attending the workshop.

Wang said all CPPCC members should take the acquisition of new knowledge as an important task in an era featuring continuous progress of science and technology.

They should work hard to make innovations in the CPPCC' s theories and working mechanism and make new achievements in their political advisory career, Wang said.
