Senior CPC official vows to improve anti-corruption effectiveness
Senior Chinese official in charge of discipline inspection from the Communist Party of China (CPC) vowed Tuesday to beef up the country's anti-corruption campaign and improve its effectiveness.

He Yong, deputy secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, made the remarks in a meeting with a Nigerian delegation led by Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission of Nigeria, Justice Emmanuel Olayinka Ayoola.

He said the CPC and the Chinese government attached great importance to the fight against corruption, vowing to improve its effectiveness.

"While resolutely cracking down on corruption, we also focus on improving preventive measures and institutions to curb corruption," said He, adding the Party and government addressed both the symptoms and root causes of corruption.

He said the anti-corruption campaign had played an important role in promoting China's economic and social development and upholding justice.

Ayoola spoke highly of China's efforts to combat corruption and build a clean government.

The Nigerian delegation is visiting China at the invitation of the National Bureau of Corruption Prevention.
