CPC briefs foreign diplomats on intra-Party democracy
The Communist Party of China (CPC) on Tuesday held a news briefing for foreign diplomats in Beijing on intra-Party democracy.

The International Department of the CPC Central Committee invited Gao Yongzhong, director of the Party Building Research Institution of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, to introduce the achievements and future direction of development of CPC's intra-Party democracy.

The diplomats raised a wide range of questions at the briefing, focusing on democratic rights of party members and elections within the Party, among others.

The CPC held its first news briefing in Beijing last September after the Fourth Plenary Session of the 17th CPC Central Committee and it was welcomed by Beijing-based foreign diplomats and correspondents.

Around 40 foreign diplomats from more than 30 countries attended Tuesday's news briefing, according to the International Department of the CPC Central Committee.
