After recommendations, written examinations, interviews, investigations and public notifications over a period of three months, the names of the provincial-level leaders selected in Hunan in 2009 were finally determined.
About 15 cadres stood out from the 393 candidates. Among them, 13 are non-Communists. Several cadres were directly promoted to deputy director generals from deputy division heads. This was the first time in Hunan that non-Communists were selected to hold senior positions and is also a rare phenomenon nationwide.
On Jan. 13, 2010, the Hunan Provincial Committee held a collective meeting for the public selection of provincial leaders and cadres in 2009 and announced the 15 publicly-selected cadres to assume office.
