Exploring new training methods to develop learning channels
The pilot project for the self-selection of training courses will explore a new cadre-training mechanism focusing mainly on the organization and training and supplemented by the self-selection of training courses.

Based on the 110 class hours cadres must spend every year, there will be 40 to 60 class hours available for self-selection courses.

"Another highlight of the pilot program is that it will bring colleges and universities into line with the cadre-training system." It not only includes the schools undertaking the organization and training tasks such as the Party School of the Central Committee of the CPC, Chinese Academy of Governance and National Defense University of China, but also college and university training bases such as the Peking Universtiy, Tsinghua University, Renmin University and Beijing Normal University.

Qin Shaode, secretary of the Party Committee at Shanghai's Fudan University, said colleges and universities cannot replace Party schools, institutes of administration and cadre-training schools in some training fields because they are the main channels to educate and train cadres.

In addition to imparting knowledge, they mainly educate students on the theory and Party spirit.

With the help of this new cadre-training mode, as well as the nourishment of new knowledge, skills and information, the cadres who select their own training courses will do better to broaden their horizons, thinking and minds.
