A senior leader of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has urged the country's publicity officials to earn public trust by better serving the people.
Li Changchun, a Standing Committee member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the call Saturday while meeting with the family members of Zheng Shangjing, a late township publicity official in southwest China's Yunnan Province, who died of a cerebral hemorrhage at the age of 38 in December 2009.
Zheng was widely known for his diligent and people-oriented work.
In addition to his own job, Zheng also always helped farmers and taught local teachers how to use the computer in his spare time.
Li said Zheng was an excellent representative of grassroots publicity officials, and asked all the publicity officials to learn from Zheng.
