Top Chinese legislator Wu Bangguo met with Speaker of the French National Assembly Bernard Accoyer in Beijing Sunday with both sides vowing to enhance parliamentary cooperation.
"We should give full play to the role of parliamentary exchanges and cooperation to develop China-France ties. We should also keep in close communication at all levels," said Wu, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature.
He urged the two sides to make use of the established regular exchange mechanism and have in-depth discussions on major issues of common concern.
He also urged the strengthening of mutual trust and more cooperation to promote the China-France all-round strategic partnership.
Accoyer said the French National Assembly hopes to have a closer relationship with the NPC.
He said active parliamentary exchange between China and France will give a strong impetus to the development of bilateral relations.【1】 【2】 http://paper.people.com.cn/rmrb/html/2010-06/21/nw.D110000renmrb_20100621_1-01.htm?div=-1
