Chinese VP's Asia-Pacific tour promotes economic, trade cooperation: senior commerce official
Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping's just-concluded four-nation tour to the Asia-Pacific region has contributed to promoting China's foreign economic and trade cooperation, said Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce Chen Jian on Wednesday.

Xi's visit to Bangladesh, Laos, New Zealand and Australia is a very important tour that enabled him to have extensive exchange of views with political and business leaders of these countries on a wide range of issues such as enhancing bilateral economic and trade ties, Chen said in an interview with Chinese news media.

He noted that China and these countries have reached broad consensus,and the leaders of these countries have expressed readiness to strengthen cooperation with China and advance ties with China in economy and trade, he said.

During Vice President Xi's visit, a series of cooperation pacts were signed between governments and companies, the senior Chinese commerce official said.
