Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan met Sunday with U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner to exchange views on further strengthening the economic links between China and the United States and on other issues of common interest.
Wang and Geithner met on the sidelines of the fourth summit of the G20 countries.
Wang is accompanying Chinese President Hu Jintao to attend the G20 summit from Saturday to Sunday.
President Hu made a speech under the title of "Work in unity for the future" at the G20 summit Sunday morning, laying out a three-point proposal for promoting a strong, sustainable and balanced global economic growth.
On the sidelines of the G20 summit, President Hu met with U.S. President Barack Obama. During the meeting, Hu made positive comment on the progress made in bilateral relations over the past few months, and accepted Obama's invitation to visit the United States.【1】 【2】
