Chinese VP arrives in Luanda to visit Angola
Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping arrived in Luanda on Friday, kicking off his official visit to Angola.

Xi made the visit as a guest of Angola's Vice President Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, who came to the airport and hosted a welcoming ceremony in honor of Xi.

In a written speech delivered upon his arrival, Xi said Angola is a country that exerts vital influence on African affairs, and China is pleased to see the social and economic progress and outstanding achievements made by Angola in its reconstruction.

Xi also said China and Angola have forged profound friendship in Angola's drive to seek national independence and economic development.

The vice president spoke highly of the relations between China and Angola over the 27 years since the two established diplomatic relations.

He noted that mutual political trust has been enhanced and fruitful achievements have been scored in a wide range of fields for cooperation, which have benefited the two peoples.
