Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping has commended the efforts made by Chinese enterprises in Angola in actively participating in the post-war reconstruction process in the African country.
Xi also praised the contribution by their counterparts in other African nations to the development of China-Africa cooperation.
Addressing a seminar of Chinese entrepreneurs in Luanda on Saturday before ending his two-day visit to Angola, Xi said Angola has entered a new stage of national reconstruction and development, and the country takes up a look day by day after 27 years of civil war which ended in 2002, stressing that he believed China-Angola cooperation is blessed with great potentials.
Xi Jinping said China and Angola have viewed each other as partners of strategic cooperation, and Angola has remained as the largest trade partner of China in Africa for the past four consecutive years, and the two nations have explored a new way of cooperation by integrating credits, energy and construction.
The vice president said during the 12th five-year plan in China, the Chinese government will encourage more Chinese enterprises to enter the international market on the basis of mutual benefit as well as a win-win situation with countries concerned, and to promote China-Africa cooperation and a new type of partnership of strategic cooperation to new levels.
Xi encouraged Chinese enterprises to work for the further development of China-Africa friendship which he said is based on sincerity and equality, and contribute to the Chinese strategy to achieve a mutual benefit and a win-win situation as part of its peaceful development ambition.
The seminar, chaired by Vice Minister of Ministry of Commerce of China Chen Jian who accompanied Xi during his visit , was attended by representatives of some 20 large-scale Chinese companies operating in Angola, including the Import & Export bank of China, Norinco, Citic, Hydropower Construction Group and Chinese Business & Commercial Bank.
Earlier in the day, Xi and his delegation inspected the Kilamba Kiaxi social housing project, contracted by China's Citic Construction company, which is one of the largest housing complex under construction in the world.
