Chinese vice premier meets British finance chief for closer financial cooperation
Visiting Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang met on Monday evening with British Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne to boost bilateral financial and economic cooperation.

China and Britain have broad common interests, and both sides oppose trade protectionism and advocate free trade, Li noted, adding that the two nations enjoy wide-ranging fields of and great potential for bilateral cooperation and are facing important development opportunities.

Recent years have seen financial cooperation become a highlight of China-Britain relations, and the two sides have carried out close cooperation within the G20 framework in tackling the international financial crisis, he said.

China will commit itself to further expanding domestic demand, boosting the service industries and deepening financial reform during its 12th Five-Year Plan period (2011-2015), the Chinese vice premier said.
