Li, a Standing Committee member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended New Year greetings and expressed his hope that the performers and crew will present an excellent show for all Chinese on Lunar New Year's Eve on Jan. 22.
The annual Lunar New Year gala celebration of CCTV kicked off in 1983 and has been one of China's most popular TV shows.
