Beijing, Sept. 19 (People’s Daily Online) The annual meeting of Party building in automobile joint venture 2012 was held in Beijing on September 18. About 30 Party cadres from eight member companies gathered to discuss and share experiences in Party building, and also studied the new trends and new problems of Party work in automobile joint ventures.

Automobile joint ventures have been major power in promoting the development of China’s auto industry.

The Party committees of the eight member companies (Shanghai Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, Faw-Volkswagen, Guangqi Honda, DPCA, Shanghai GM, Beijing Hyundai, Guangzhou Toyota) have been named advanced grassroots Party organizations at provincial-level.

At present, the eight member companies have become well-known enterprises with high status and strong influence in auto industry. By the end of August 2012, the eight companies had employed more than 110,000. In 2011, their total production and sales exceeded 5 million vehicles, making them a true driving force in promoting the vigorous development of China’s auto industry.
