Senior CPC leader pinpoints enhanced party discipline
Wu Guanzheng, a senior leader of the Communist Party of China (CPC), has called for energizing party discipline and advancing the anti-corruption drive during an inspection tour of east China's Shandong Province from April 17 to 22.
Wu, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, stressed strict enforcement of self-discipline and enhanced monitoring on officials to curb abuse of power.
Wu, who is also secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, said great efforts should be made to deal with commercial briberies.
He orders officials to attend to outstanding problems that had damaged the interests of the people, and push for more transparency in administration of government, enterprises and villages.
During a trip, Wu chatted with cadres and villagers in the countryside and visited enterprises, local communities and several law enforcement departments.
