CPC Leader Calls on Publicity Officials to Improve Work
Publicity officials should break new ground through more accurately reflecting the reality of the daily lives of Chinese people, said a senior leader of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
Li Changchun, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks during his inspection tour of southwest China's Chongqing Municipality and Yunnan Province from April 8 to 15.
During the tour, Li also called on CPC cadres to continue to study the guidelines of the 16th National Congress of the CPC and the "Three Represents" theory, and to apply them in their daily work.
Li said "more accurately reflecting the reality of the daily lives of Chinese people" is the fundamental route to improving the effectiveness of publicity work, adding that this is a guiding principle that should govern publicity work in the years to come.
He called on the publicity sector to transmit both the guidelines of the CPC and the wishes of the people using the language of the masses.
He also called on leaders of regional CPC organizations to study the characteristics and laws of publicity work and explore new approaches in order to improve publicity work.
During the tour, Li also strongly urged the promotion of the development of advanced culture and the acceleration of institutional reform of the cultural sector.
