| Zeng Urges Party Cadres to Seek Truth from Facts |

Zeng Qinghong, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, called on party cadres to seek truth from facts, keep pace with the times and to maintain the good traditions of hard work and a simple life on Sunday. Zeng, also president of the Party School of the CPC Central Committee, made the call at the school's spring semester opening ceremony. Talking about the international situation, Zeng said that Chinacurrently faces both opportunities and challenges. He said that China should take advantage of the opportunities to promote reformand economic development. To this end, Party cadres should spare no efforts in studying the theory of the "Three Represents" and the spirit of the Party's16th National Congress, so that the theories can be used as guidelines in their daily work, Zeng said. Communists should seek truth from facts and be honest in word and deed, he said. The world is changing and China's modernization process continues to advance, said Zeng. He called on cadres to keep pace with the times, advising them to be enterprising rather than content with existing achievements. Zeng stressed the importance of the principle "governing the country for the people", while encouraging cadres to carry forwardthe tradition of hard work and share weal and woe with the masses. All Party officials, leading officials in particular, should resist corruption and work wholeheartedly for the public interest,he said. A total of 1,108 new students attended Sunday's opening ceremony, which was presided over by Yu Yunyao, vice president of the school.
