| Senior CPC official calls for increasing exchanges with Indian political parties |

The Communist Party of China (CPC) is ready to further increase exchanges with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and other major Indian political parties, said a senior CPC official in Beijing Tuesday. Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the remark in a meeting with a delegation of the NCP of India. Both sides spoke highly of the sound development of China-India friendly and cooperative relations. This year is a year of friendship between China and India. Wang said the CPC is ready to enhance exchanges and cooperation with all Indian major political parties, including the NCP, to push for the China-India friendship. Wang also briefed the guests on China's peaceful development and the building of harmonious society. Y. P. Trivedi, treasurer of the NCP, spoke highly of China's remarkable achievements in the development process, hoping that India and China would further enhance mutually-beneficial cooperation.
