|
|
Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), said in Beijing Tuesday that inter-party exchange plays a "unique and important" role in promoting the relations between China and France. He made the remarks while meeting with former French Prime Minister Pierre Mauroy. Wang noted that the CPC was willing to further strengthen all-round friendly exchange and cooperation with the French side by consolidating the existing sound cooperation. Mauroy, who is also Honorary President of the Socialist International and President of the Jean Jaures Foundation, echoed Wang's view by saying that it was his consistent stance to promote the relations between the two countries and parties. He said he would continue making "unremitting efforts" in this regard. Source: Xinhua
