A grand military parade will be held on October 1 at Tian'anmen Square to mark the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
The Chinese People's Liberation Amy (PLA), which used to rely on "millet plus rifles", has been gradually modernized. The military parade and march-past on National Day will demonstrate the change of the Chinese soldiers and military equipment.
On October 1, 1952, a spectacular ceremony was held at Tian'anmen Square to celebrate the third anniversary of PRC. Also that year, Chinese volunteer troops were engaging in an extremely hard and bitter struggle on the Korean Peninsular against U.S. invaders.
The most prominent characteristic of this military parade was that the PLA had a new member – the public security forces. The public security forces were an armed branch organized after the founding of the PRC.
