Chinese senior leader Luo Gan on Wednesday called on officials in political and law enforcement departments all over the country to learn from the excellent deeds of a model judge.
Huang Xuejun, a judge with the intermediate people's court in Foshan City, south China's Guangdong Province, has always carried in her mind the tenet of "serving the people heart and soul" and handled cases fairly, said Luo, a Standing Committee member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
Huang, who had served the court for 19 years, had dealt with more than 2,000 cases, none of which was mishandled. She had also helped ease many disputes among the public, which had won her social respect.
Luo Gan asked all court officials and police to follow her example to become honest and upright law enforcers.
China's chief justice Xiao Yang also urged all judges to learn from Huang, requiring them to further enhance professional ethics, broaden their legal knowledge and enrich their judicial expertise.
Luo and Xiao made the remarks while meeting members of a report group, which held a meeting on Huang Xuejun's outstanding deeds at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, attended by more than 700people, including government officials and representatives from all walks of life, on Wednesday.
