Senior official calls on deepening education of "rule of law"
Chinese senior official Luo Gan on Friday called on all political and law enforcement departments to step up the education of the "rule of law".

The "rule of law" concept featuring socialistic characteristics is the guideline of China's political and law enforcement work, said Luo, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, who overseas law and order.

"A thorough and lasting education campaign on the concept will help enhance law enforcement capability and promote social harmony and stability," said Luo at a teleconference.

The education campaign, which involved political and law enforcement departments all over the country for more than a year, had achieved marked progress and should be combined with practical work, Luo said.

In particular, the education should be blended with easing disputes, maintaining social order and smashing gangs and crimes, he added.
