Senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Wu Guanzheng arrived in Havana Thursday, kicking off a four-day visit to Cuba.
In a written statement released upon his arrival at the airport,Wu said that China and Cuba as well as the two peoples have enjoyed a long-standing friendship, and that and Cuba is the first among the Latin American countries to have established diplomatic relations with China.
Wu, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau ofthe Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), said that the CPC and the Chinese government attaches great importance to its ties with Cuba and is willing to work together with Cuba for future cooperation.
Wu, who flew here after concluding a visit to Spain, said he expected to exchange views with Cuban leaders over issues of common concern.
He expressed his belief that his visit will be surely conducive to enhancing friendship, broadening common recognition and further promoting cooperation with Cuba.
Wu will also visit Colombia and Chile after winding up his Cubatour.
