China to deepen inter-party relations with Laos, senior party official says
The Communist Party of China (CPC) is ready to keep increasing exchanges and cooperation with the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP), a senior Chinese party official said Friday in Beijing.
Wu Guanzheng, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remark when meeting with Somsavat Lengsavad, LPRP central committee member and Lao deputy prime minister.
Wu said the CPC will work with the LPRP to learn from each other on the experiences of managing state affairs, and play a bigger role in promoting the cooperative relations between the two nations.
Wu said China and Laos, as friendly close neighbors, have witnessed new developments in bilateral relations in recent years, with frequent high-level visits and stable progress achieved in exchanges and cooperation in various fields.
China is satisfied with the sound development of the party-to-party ties and the state-to-state ties with Laos, Wu said, expressing appreciation for Laos' adherence to the one-China policy and for Laos' support to China in major international affairs.
Somsavat said with the care of top leaders of both sides, the party-to-party and state-to-state relations between Laos and China have made noticeable progress. He expressed thankfulness for China's help in Laos' social progress.
The LPRP attaches great importance to studying the CPC's party-building experiences in the process of promoting social and economic progress, Somsavat said, hoping that the two parties will further upgrade their friendly relations and exchange their experiences to jointly push forward the development of state-to-state relations.
