Senior CPC official on vital importance of building clean government
A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) urged on June 14 officials in charge of discipline inspection and supervision to be fully aware of the vital importance of improving the Party's work style and building a clean government.
Wu Guanzheng, secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, made the remarks at a meeting in commemoration of the 100th birth anniversary of Chen Yun, a late proletarian revolutionary and founder of China's socialist economy.
Wu spoke highly of Chen Yun, who was the first secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection at the Third Plenary Session of the 11th CPC Central Committee in late 1978, for his practical work style and ability in dealing with issues related to the Party's discipline by taking into account the utmost interests of the Party and the people while giving full play to inner-party democracy.
Chen's thoughts of far-reaching influence have contributed to enriching and developing the theory about Party's work style and clean government, Wu said, adding that they are important to the Party's campaign to preserve its advanced nature and purity, and improve its creativeness, cohesiveness and combat effectiveness.
Wu urged Party discipline inspection and supervision departments and officials to carry forward the spirit of seeking truth from facts and adopting a practical work style, put into effect the system of accountability in preventing and fighting corruption.
