Chinese Vice President Zeng Qinghong met in Beijing Friday with a Japanese Diet delegation headed by Kosaka Kenji, member of the House of Representatives of Japanese Diet.
Zeng said the China-Japan relations are at an important juncture and it serves both interests to consolidate the improvement of bilateral relations and keep the momentum.
Based on the spirit of taking history as a mirror and looking into the future, the two countries should maintain the political foundation of bilateral ties so as to achieve mutually beneficial cooperation and common development, Zeng said.
Kenji expressed willingness to carry out the traditional friendship, and push ahead bilateral cooperation in energy saving, environmental protection and exchanges between young people.
