Chinese Vice President Zeng Qinghong joined 1,300 people of all ethnic groups at an evening party held here Thursday to celebrate the 60th anniversary of founding of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
The evening party was opened by a famous traditional Mongolian song and followed by a feast of traditional dancing and singing, which expressed deep love of the Mongolian people to their hometown and the motherland.
The wonderful performances won thundering applause from the audience.
The region was the first of five province-level autonomous regions established in China with a population of 23.92 million at the end of 2006, 4.23 million of whom were Mongolians.
A delegation from the central government, led by Zeng Qinghong, has been here for the two-day celebrations in the region.
