Chinese leader urges college united front members to make more contribution
Chinese top political advisor Jia Qinglin on Thursday urged united front members at colleges to contribute more to the nation's economic and social development.

Jia, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said in a meeting with student delegates that colleges and universities are an important stage for the united front work.

He called for efforts to broaden the team of united front workers by registering more non-CPC members.

Jia, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, asked college united front members to better learn President Hu Jintao's recent keynote speech at a Party school.

State Councilor Chen Zhili and Liu Yandong, vice chairwoman of the CPPCC National Committee and head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee were present during the meeting.
