| Chinese Premier confident in long-term economic boom |

China can maintain sustained and long-term development and is well prepared to respond to new growth despite energy, resources and environmental constraints, said Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao on Tuesday.
Wen's comments came at a joint interview with European media before his visit to Finland, Britain, Germany and Tajikistan between Sept. 9 and 16, spending part of his trip attending the ninth China-EU Summit and the sixth Asia-Europe Meeting.
China's economy has been growing at an average annual rate of over nine percent over the past three decades. In the last three years, its annual growth rate has exceeded ten percent.
"The key is that we have pursued the right domestic and foreign policy," Wen said. "As China's reform and opening up drive deepens, the institutional barriers standing in the way of economic development will be removed," Wen said.
According to Wen, despite facing constraints in energy, resources and the environment, the country is accelerating its restructuring of the economy and changing the pattern of economic growth to build an environmentally-friendly society.
"We are in a position to ensure continued and fairly fast growth of China's economy for a considerable period of time to come, and we have full confidence in our ability to do so. " Wen said.
