Chinese, Barbados PMs exchange greetings on anniversary of diplomatic ties
Chinese Primer Wen Jiabao on Wednesday exchanged congratulatory messages with his Barbados counterpart Owen Arthur on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties.

Bilateral friendly relations and cooperation have been developing smoothly since the two countries established diplomatic ties 30 years ago, Wen said in his message.

Exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in politics, trade, economy, culture and other fields have been fruitful and mutual trust is growing steadily, Wen said. In international and regional affairs, China and Barbados have provided mutual support to one another and showed mutual understanding, he added.

China is ready to work with Barbados to bring their friendly ties and cooperation to a higher level, Wen said.

Arthur said bilateral relations have been growing steadily thanks to the high-level regular dialogue between the two countries and exchanges between the two peoples.

Barbados has been steadfast in following the one-China policy, Arthur said, expressing the belief that mutual support between the two countries will be further enhanced.

Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi and his Barbados counterpart Billie Miller also exchanged congratulatory messages on the occasion.
