Chinese president leaves for Germany to attend outreach session of G-8 Summit
Chinese President Hu Jintao left Beijing Wednesday for Germany to attend the outreach session of the G-8 Summit at the invitation of German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

After the Germany trip, Hu will pay a state visit to Sweden from June 8 to 10 at the invitation of Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf, the first visit by a Chinese head of state to Sweden since the two countries established diplomatic ties in 1950.

Hu's entourage includes his wife Liu Yongqing, State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan, Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi, Minister in charge of National Development and Reform Commission Ma Kai, Commerce Minister Bo Xilai, Director of the Policy Research Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Wang Huning, Deputy Director of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee Ling Jihua, and Director of the President's Office Chen Shiju.

Hu will attend the multilateral meeting of leaders of the five developing countries participating in the session on June 8. He will also hold bilateral meetings with leaders of some countries to the session.

Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Cui Tiankai said Monday Hu will enunciate China's views and suggestions on climate change during the outreach session of the G-8 Summit.
