Liu Yunshan, head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met here Tuesday with a delegation of the Portuguese Communist Party (PCP).
The delegation, visiting China at the invitation of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, is led by Albano Nunes, member of the Political Committee of the PCP.
Speaking highly of the efforts PCP has made for the friendly relations between China and Portugal, Liu said the CPC highly values its friendship with the PCP and is willing to further enhance the exchanges and cooperation between the two parties.
Liu, also a member of both the Political Bureau and the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, expressed gratitude for PCP's support for China on the issues concerning Tibet, Taiwan and human rights.
He also briefed the guests with China's domestic situation and national development.
Nunes highly praised China's achievements in socialist building as well as its role in the international community, and said the PCP attaches great importance on friendly exchanges and cooperation with the CPC, and will firmly support China's reform and opening up policy.
