Former high-ranking official investigated for taking bribes
He Minxu, former vice governor of east China's Anhui Province is under investigation for taking bribes worth eight million yuan (nearly one million U.S. dollars), said an official of neighboring Shandong Province Monday.

Guo Jiasen, Procurator of Shandong People's Procuratorate, announced at the on-going fifth session of the 10th people's congress that He was involved for taking bribes to promote officials and approving land deals.

The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China and Supreme People's Procuratorate, asked the Shandong People's Procuratorate to investigate the Anhui vice governor to ensure an impartial and independent investigation.
