China top legislator meets Polish governor
China's top legislator Wu Bangguo on Friday met with Maciej Klima, governor of the Malopolskie province, on promoting ties between Malopolskie and China's Jiangsu province.

Noting that the cooperation at provincial level is an importantaspect of relations between nations, Wu appreciated Malopolskie's contribution to the Sino-Polish relationship, and hoped that Malopolskie and Jiangsu would be able to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in fields like industry, culture and tourism.

Klima said as a key industrial zone in Poland, Malopolskie has benefited much since it built a friendly relationship with Jiangsu province, adding that he is willing to take the advantage of Wu's visit to push the local friendly exchanges between the two countries to a new level.

At the invitation of the Polish parliament's lower house speaker, Ludwik Dorn, Wu arrived in Warsaw noon Thursday. It is the first time a top Chinese legislator has visited Poland.

Poland is the last leg of Wu's three-nation visit, which has already taken him to Egypt and Hungary.
